In-house Legal Counsel, 3 years+ PQE, Global Investment Bank

THE COMPANY
Our client, a well-known global investment bank is seeking a junior to mid-level cantonese or mandarin speaking Lawyer to join their team.

THE ROLE

You will be reporting directly to the Head of Legal and will work alongside the wider team. This role will be dynamic and challenging and include a variety of work such as:

• Providing general regulatory advice ensuring compliance with the UK regulatory bodies and the jurisdictions the business operates in.
• Negotiating brokerage terms of business, commission sharing arrangements, give-up agreements and electronic connectivity terms;
• Reviewing and negotiating custody and clearing agreements as they relate to the equities trading business;
• Reviewing, drafting and negotiating of commercial contracts such as engagement letters, IP/IT agreements, NDAs and ad-hoc agreements.
• Liaise with lawyers working in other jurisdictions on cross-border initiatives
• Work alongside the compliance team and other control functions, to provide legal input/assistance on new business initiatives, regulation implementation exercises and other internal projects;
• Instructing and liaising with external counsel, as required

CANDIDATE

• The ideal candidate will have 3years+* PQE in-house within a Financial Services organisation or private practice firm
• Experience and demonstrable understanding of EU regulations and the ability to speak mandarin or cantonese highly desirable
