- Construction/Commercial Litigation Lawyer - Legal 500 - Manchester
An experienced commercial litigation Lawyer is required who should have requisite experience in construction Law and familiar with the TCC, Adjudication and Arbitration to take over substantial caseload of files from the Managing Director due to the volume of work, and to release the Managing Director for other work. The successful candidate should be able to fully conduct files with no or minimal supervision. The candidate should also be able and willing to also undertake general commercial litigation. The firm has a regular supply of construction work which is increasingly expanding. Typically, the claims are for between £100,000.00 to £500,000.00 and some claims also exceed £1m. These predominantly relate to claims against national main contractors, e.g. Carillion, Balfour Beatty, Costain and Pochin. The clients are a variety of insolvency practitioners concerned with insolvent construction companies who acted as sub-contractors to those main contractors.
There is the possibility for a Lawyer with less experience to assist the Managing Partner on these cases.
The salary will be dependent upon experience and with an attractive bonus scheme. Whilst there is a full caseload, if a candidate can demonstrate that they have their own work with a client following that could affect salary. This would help demonstrate an ability to retain and increase a client base. The candidate is likely to have at least 5 years PQE and potentially have in excess of 10 years PQE.
