Overview: This is a TMT job with a difference.

 

Ashurst is investing heavily in its new TMT and Digital Economy Group.  Join us as this group looks to position itself at the forefront of the second generation of TMT.  Advising traditional players in the telecoms, media and technology sectors, as well as more widely on the issues faced by all businesses in the face of the disruption and new opportunities brought about by the developing Digital Economy.

 

At its core, the London TMT and Digital Economy Group is led by a team of five partners with recognised expertise across telecoms, media, technology, outsourcing, data and IP.  The group forms part of a wider cross-practice, international team.

Job overview:

We are looking for an associate to join this new team and play a key role in the development of the Digital Economy.  This represents an exciting opportunity to be part of a developing, strategic, practice.

 

You will have the opportunity to:

  • develop client relationship with both existing and new clients;
  • work with colleagues in other practice areas and offices;
  • play a role in developing thought leadership; and
  • be an ambassador for the Digital Economy Group across the firm.

 

Essential skills and experience:

 

The successful candidate is likely to:

  • between 3 and 5 years' experience;
  • have an interest in, and preferably demonstrate experience in, data protection and privacy law matters;
  • have private practice experience with a leading TMT team, possibly augmented with relevant in-house experience;
  • be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of issues faced by clients in the face of the developing Digital Economy;
  • be technically strong;
  • be a real team player; and
  • be able to demonstrate the entrepreneurial spirit and energy necessary to help push this important initiative forward.

Secondment opportunities:
