This is a very exciting opportunity for an in-house lawyer to join the Legal sales and marketing team within a high profile company, focussing on their mobile network operator. The role of Legal Counsel, Sales and Marketing sits within the Legal and Regulatory team reporting into the Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs and will be responsible for partnering with the marketing, sales and customer care teams to facilitate the delivery of their projects and day to day operations in a manner which minimises the legal risk to Tesco Mobile.

The Legal & Regulatory team is a newly incorporated team within the business with a wide ranging remit. This will include advising the management team on strategic projects and the governance of the joint venture, and also advising the business on commercial transactions, marketing and sales promotions, and regulatory requirements. There will also be a focus on the implementation and monitoring of internal policies and regulatory requirements.

This is a highly commercial role within a high growth, exciting, fast-paced and dynamic environment. To succeed in this role, you must be able to work in a dynamic environment and also possess;

  • Legal qualification (1 years + PQE)
  • Working familiarity with the requirements of Ofcom and the Advertising Standards Authority
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the regulatory requirements associated with selling via a retail, online or telesales channel
  • Excellent drafting and business appropriate communication skills
  • Previous experience working as part of an in-house legal team or in the IPT team of a law firm

A strong legal background, ideally possessing experience at a top firm or in-house, with outstanding analytical and writing skills is a bonus. An in depth understanding of mobile communications business and customers, knowledge of the Consumer Credit Act and requirement(s) of the Financial Conduct Authority, a working knowledge of the implementation of the Data Protection Act in a customer centric business, and familiarity with the UK Bribery Act 2010 and Distance Selling Regulations would be highly advantageous, but is not essential.

Please note our advertisements use PQE/salary levels purely as a guide. However we are happy to consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfil the role.
