Commercial Lawyer

A large multinational corporation is seeking to hire a confident and experienced solicitor to join their legal team on an interim contract.

The new hire will provide additional support to the legal team, in order to facilitate the provision of logical and cost effective legal advice and services to all levels of the business and management. A wide range of business issues will be advised on, and employees in both the UK and across Europe will require regular legal advice. Key areas in which advice will be sought after regularly, are: IT/TMT contracts; Data Protection; competition law, and; general operation contracts. Knowledge of Intellectual Property, marketing & advertising law and consumer law is also advantageous. You will work closely with the procurement team. Additionally, you will be expected to engage with external counsel on both contentious and non-contentious issues.

Other responsibilities include:

- assisting with training initiatives in the UK;

- assisting with compliance and Corporate Governance matters, including the yearly assessment and monitoring of: ethics, compliance and governance, and risk;

- helping with Europe-wide projects.

The successful candidate will have a proven record of strong academic results, and will ideally be UK qualified. Three to eight years PQE is recommended, however candidates outside of these parameters will still be considered. In-house experience in manufacturing and automotive sectors is preferable, or if from a private practice, experience of advising clients operating in these sectors is preferred.
