CONSTRUCTION SOLICITOR - MANCHESTER
Construction Solicitor – One of our leading national clients is looking for an experienced non-contentious construction solicitor to join as Associate within this growing team, which has an excellent reputation within the sector. Candidates should ideally have in excess of four years PQE, with proven experience of advising on large scale construction projects within the private and public sector.

- Previous Experience: Proven experience in non-contentious construction with excellent technical drafting and negotiation. A commercial approach, coupled with the ability to work and liaise with other team members and third parties is paramount.

The national construction team offers a wide range of expertise and works seamlessly with other departments within the firm, such as commercial property, energy and the environmental team. The firm’s sector-driven approach also encourages lawyers to develop valuable, industry specific knowledge, enabling them to deliver a truly holistic client service.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Ideal applicants of this role must possess a valuable blend of skills, from high level project management skills to excellent drafting abilities and negotiation skills. At this stage in your career, what really identifies the best candidates is your ability to offer straight forward, commercial advice, when confronted by what are often large, complex, deals.
In particular, candidates should be able to demonstrate:
- Around 4-5 PQE or more in non-contentious construction. A broad range of PQE is being considered, but the successful candidate should be an accomplished construction lawyer, capable of hitting the ground running;
- Excellent technical drafting and advisory experience in relation to development agreements, supply and maintenance contracts, collateral warranties etc;
- The ability to work independently as well as in large teams when required;
- The commercial acumen (as mentioned above) and ability to address the key issues behind any deal.

Though this is a fee earning role, it is clear that there is scope for further career progression within the team.
