Leading US law firm is looking to recruit a Librarian/Legal Information Specialist who will be responsible for the library and information service in the London office. The role includes the following responsibilities for their library, to maintain library collections, including hard copy sources and the cataloguing and stock management, maintain and renew on-line subscriptions, monitor new publications and on-line subscriptions for purchase and trial new online products, keep under view existing hard copy and online subscriptions and archive out-of-date copies, negotiate online and hard copy subscription renewals and oversee the ordering and invoicing, maintain accurate records, control all journal subscriptions, including supervision of circulation lists for individual titles, liaise with suppliers and account managers on a regular basis to keep up-to-date with new developments and also manage all external supplier accounts, co-ordinate training and control passwords for all online packages and continually evaluate current systems and services and look for more efficient, cost-effective ways of providing those services. On the Information Services side you work as part of the London Research team to respond to research and information enquiries from UK and US attorneys in London and overseas offices in particular, retrieving documents and other materials from external sources, set up email alerts to external sources for attorneys and the business development team, assist with knowledge management for current awareness and with business development services and provide training and induction on library and external information services for new joiners and on-going for attorneys and others. Applicants require previous experience as a legal librarian and information specialist who is enthusiastic about managing a well-used library and external online resources, have good interpersonal and communications skills and with a flexible attitude so to respond positively to unexpected or urgent requests and the ability to work as part of a team and independently plus be highly IT proficient with previous experience of library systems a bonus.
