An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Manager / Commercial Manager to work on a part time basis. The role will utilise your legal skills but will also allow you to branch out and be involved in more commercial and strategic elements of the business. The business offers a collegiate, flexible and dynamic working environment.
The role requires a qualified lawyer with at least 2 years PQE who is looking for a non-conventional legal role. Previous experience in public sector contracts would be advantageous. The job will involve:
- Maintaining, reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of different contracts
- Reviewing terms and conditions
- Issuing bespoke contract amendments
- Dealing with queries, issues and concerns surrounding employment
- Reviewing any legislative changes for their potential impact on the business, to determine whether any changes are required to contracts or processes and to brief directors.
- Advising the Operations Team on compliance issues.
- Providing general legal and commercial support to the whole company.
- Developing and maintaining company policies.
- Overseeing bid process – through receipt on portals or from clients, reviewing these to determine which ones to pursue, developing project plans and allocating duties, collating and editing sections and submitting tenders.
- Proposals – writing appropriate sections of tenders and supporting business needs.
- Providing significant support to Operations Team of which you will be a key part.
- Providing significant support to owners and Directors in terms of provision of commercial support and analysis, often in conjunction with CFO.
The ideal candidate will have a commercial legal background and experience of reviewing, drafting and amending contracts. Excellent interpersonal and written skills are essential. The candidate should preferably have experience with public sector procurement frameworks.
