Paralegal job in London with national law firm, Professional Risk, FTC (until April 2017), up to £35k

Your new company
This leading national law firm is looking for a Paralegal to join their Professional Risk team in their Insurance department. Their national Speciality Insurance team handles a variety of claims across a spectrum of professional disciplines. The team has particular strength dealing with financial services, brokers, legal and construction. Over the last year the Speciality Insurance team has resolved claims worth over £100 million.

Your new role
You will be working within the London Professional Risk Team. Their caseload is predominantly within litigation and dispute resolution. They have broad-ranging responsibilities, from dealing with technical construction disputes, to claims against accountants and financial services professionals, to breach of fiduciary duty rust claims. You will assist the partners with their caseload, conduct case handling tasks, and assist with drafting and reviewing of various documents and correspondence. This will be a client-facing role, meaning you will liaise with clients, insurers and third parties. You will complete MI procedures when required, achieve set financial targets, and comply with relevant procedures.

What you'll need to succeed
You have experience working in a recognised legal practice within this area of work. You understand the insurance market, professional indemnity/CAR policies, reserving philosophies and reporting arrangements. You also understand the relationship between brokers, underwriters/insurers and lawyers. It would be beneficial if you've had experience within/have been seconded to an insurance client. You have exceptional communication skills and IT skills, and can work autonomously and as part of a team.
