This role will suit candidates who are looking for more flexibility in their contract and who don't necessarily seek regular full time hours.

Duties will include:

  • Drafting S106 agreements
  • Advising on planning enforcement matters
  • Attending Licensing and Regulatory panels as legal adviser in order to deal with License Applications
  • Instructing and managing work with external legal advisers
  • Attending meetings of committees and sub-committees as legal adviser
  • Preparing reports with advice on legal implications
  • Handling debt recovery matters, acting on behalf of the council

We can offer a highly competitive hourly rate of up to £35 per hour for this position depending upon your experience.

Applications are welcome from Qualified Solicitors, Barristers, and FCILEX Lawyers who have experience dealing with local authority matters. Candidates from a private practice background are welcome to apply provided they can demonstrate experience working for public sector bodies.

Our client is looking to appoint as soon as possible, with the successful candidate starting their assignment following one brief telephone interview. With this in mind, interested candidates should apply as soon as possible, by emailing a full and up to date CV
