THE FIRM

A global law firm whose London Banking Group has a strong pipeline of work.

THE ROLE

The Banking Group is seeking at least two Associates.

Their work includes advising financial institutions and other lenders, sponsors, borrowers and other corporate entities on all aspects of financing transactions - from origination, negotiation and documentation to closing.

As a firm, they are noted for their expertise in acquisition finance, securitisation, bank lending, financial regulatory work and project finance, especially advising on bespoke complex transactions and those involving emerging markets as well as infrastructure finance.

The roles will involve advising clients on a wide range of matters, with a particular focus on syndicated loans, acquisition finance, project finance and trade finance.

Candidates wishing to handle a wide range of work are encouraged to apply as they can be accommodated.

Associates work in a collegiate environment, for a range of partners, and can expect to be given regular and direct contact with clients, with a culture based on associates being given the level of responsibility they are ready for.

You will be heavily involved developing relationships with clients including gaining a good knowledge of the client's businesses, economic drivers, market and sector requirements in order to ensure advice is relevant and commercial

There are also regular opportunities for in house secondments with clients and posting to other offices under the firm's associate transfer programme is also a possibility

You will be engaging in business development activities and being active in the promotion of the firm and seeking opportunities for new work

Partner prospects are good for the right candidates.

ABOUT YOU

A qualified lawyer with excellent academic credentials.

Current experience in the banking department of a leading City or US firm

Experience in leveraged finance is essential

First rate technical skills to support the client work of the department

Commerciality and demonstrable business development experience

Excellent written communication and drafting skills

Initiative and proactivity
