Our client, a leading international law firm, are looking for a Senior Learning & Development Manager to join their Learning and Development Team.

The Team

The Learning and Development department provides business skills, personal and management development courses/programmes which are available to partners, associates, business services staff and secretaries globally. These are delivered by our in-house learning and development team to help meet the strategic objectives of the practice.

The training is designed and delivered based on acknowledged best practice and the latest thinking in management, leadership, business development and personal effectiveness as well as blending knowledge and understanding of the practice culture, values and procedures to provide training that is relevant to the work undertaken in the practice.

The team also provides open courses, coaching and customised sessions to individuals, teams and groups, as well as training to the clients of the practice.

The Role

Based in London, the role will support the Global Director of Learning & Organisational

Development in delivering our Learning & Development offering to meet the requirements of the EMEA region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Line manage two or more Learning and Development managers.
  • Design and deliver training sessions to enhance the skills of our people.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Learning and Development strategy.
  • Work with course designers to facilitate train the trainer sessions for new programmes.
  • Work with existing Senior L&D Manager and the L&D Practice Manager on course scheduling.
  • Provide monthly updates to the Leadership Team on international office L&D activities.
  • Manage the L&D course evaluation process providing analysis in the form of monthly reports on outcomes to the Leadership Team.
  • Ensure that all courses have the appropriate courseware.
  • Assist in the management and delivery of International Academy 5 and International Academy for Seniors.
  • Undertake learning and development initiatives to support the implementation of the firm’s Strategy.
  • Undertake needs analysis, produce project plans, conduct associated research and deliver on improvement projects for teams/departments.
  • Track team performance against targets.
  • Providing coaching to associates and business services staff.
  • Participate fully in the activities of the Learning and Development team and the wider HR team and work closely with other business services teams (including across International offices) as required.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested.
