Locum Commercial Contracts & Procurement Solicitor

My client is seeking a Locum Commercial Contracts & Procurement Solicitor to join their in-house legal team on a long term contract basis of around 12 months. My client is a highly respected and established local authority legal team. The successful candidate will be employed to handle high value commercial and procurement work, including joint ventures and partnership matters.

Applications are welcome from Qualified Solicitors, Barristers and Legal Executives who have the relevant experience working within a Local Government organisation or Law Firm and have a current practicing certificate. Candidates must have at least 3 year's experience working with public sector clients and be able to handle a range of high value matters without supervision.

Duties will include:

• Providing legal support to all council departments and working closely with the procurement department
• Advising, drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts including: NEC3 construction contracts, ICT Outsourcing Contracts, Collaboration Agreements, Sponsorship Agreements, Licence Agreements, Non- Disclosure Agreements, Novation Agreements, Professional Services Agreements, Indemnity Agreements, Framework Agreements, Grant Agreements and other bespoke contracts
• Dealing with EU Procurement law, including giving advice on procurement documentation
• Dealing with information governance and administrative law

This role offers a rate of up to £40 per hour (umbrella/limited company basis). This is a full time position. The client can also accommodate some remote working after an initial period.
