Senior Counsel (Projects & Ventures)

My client, an International Oil & Gas company are currently seeking a senior counsel to join their team based in Qatar.

You will be responsible for providing specialist advice in relation to all forms of agreements as well as providing knowledge and expertise on all legal matters concerning the projects and ventures part of the legal team.

Responsibilities for the role will include;

• Leading the drafting and/or reviewing all legal documentation and agreements (e.g Heads of agreements, memorandum of understanding, JV agreements, articles of association, lease agreements)
• Lead and coordinate activities in the negotiations with all foreign parties and ensure the interests of the company are protected
• Provide advice to the business in relation to joint venture activities and other finance and operational project activities
• Advise upon the impact of national legislation upon any potential joint ventures activities to ensure they are compliant with the law
• Lead/facilitate the drafting of model agreements and sale and purchase agreements to ensure the interests of the business are protected

The ideal candidate will be/have

• A bachelors of law (or international equivalent) preferably with a masters degree
• Excellent command of spoken and written English
• At least 12 years experience preferably within the Oil and Gas industry
