Our client is an American law firm with offices across the globe. They represent global and local clients, and specialise in cross-border transactions and disputes
They are looking to hire an Accounts Assistant on temporary basis. The ideal candidate will have Accounts experience within a professional services environment and up to date knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules.
Responsibilities include
Maintain up to date knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules, Anti-Money Laundering, applicable tax legislation and firm policies.
Maintain the client accounts, including posting of receipts, payments and transfers.
Complete the office and client account banks reconciliation.
Process all authorised vendor invoices and disbursements. Set up new vendors.
Arrange payment of authorised invoices and expenses.
Process foreign payments via online banking or cheque.
Reconcile and enter direct debits and standing order payments
Reconcile, reimburse and manage expenses from petty cash.
Maintain the London Accounts Department diary in respect of all accounts payable related matters.
Post daily cash receipts. Send out daily cash receipts spreadsheet.
Check for unpaid disbursements upon receipt of monies in the absence of the Legal Cashier.
Deal with accounts payable queries.
Candidate Profile
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
Up to date knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules.
Good Excel skills.
Helpful and approachable manner.
Ability to prioritise workload.
