We are recruiting on behalf of one of Sheffield's leading law firms for an experienced Paralegal to join their Employment Law department.
The successful candidate will be a Paralegal / Legal Assistant with at least 2 years' Employment Law experience working in a similar role within a reputable law firm.
The role will require the successful candidate to assist and support the Lawyers with their case load, deal with initial enquiries, provide basic employment law advise to the department's clients, attend meetings and tribunals, draft documents and correspondence, conduct legal research and assist with advice on settlement agreements.
Daily duties involve supporting the work of the department's Lawyers, working with clients on the full range of employment law issues including drafting and reviewing contracts of employment, employee handbooks and advising clients by telephone and email. Due to the nature of this work, the candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and will be expected to handle telephone calls from our employer helplines and initial client enquiries.
Desirable key skills and experiences:
- Experience of working as an Employment Legal Assistant or Paralegal within a solicitor's practice
- Ability to manage and organise large volumes of documents
- Provide excellent client service in line with our departmental standards, procedures and guidelines
- The ability to contemporaneously time record
- Confident in use of Microsoft word, PowerPoint and Outlook
