IMH Group is a network of over 40 primary care sites across the UK, including GP Practices, Walk-In Centres, and Urgent Care Centres. Passionate about helping the NHS meet the needs of patients today and in the future, we provide wide-ranging support via our Head Office and field-based teams to enable our practices to run smoothly. This role is based in our Head Office in Eccles, Manchester, where we have free parking available.   

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Solicitor to take on a varied and interesting in-house role within a growing business. You will assist with the provision of legal advice across a range of topics in a responsive and cost-effective way, with the focus being on the commercial and property disciplines.

The Role

This is a key role for our business, which will involve:

• Providing legal support to IMH Group in relation to commercial contracts with third parties, including negotiating, drafting and advising on the terms of commercial contracts across all business activities
• Providing support to IMH on other legal issues that may arise such as litigation, intellectual property, data protection, clinical complaints and compliance generally;
• Managing legal issues in relation to properties including leases, service charges etc.
• Oversee the group insurance position ensuring medical cover is in place as required
• Delivering training to colleagues on legal issues as required
• Use of standard agreements and procedures to ensure the most effective advice is provided to the business in a timely manner
• Development of systems to best manage the legal advice required by the business

As sole Counsel, you can have a real impact from day one. In this role you will also have the opportunity to expand your knowledge within different areas, for example corporate and employment.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for a commercial and property solicitor who is able to provide pragmatic advice to the business. Previous experience of advising on NHS contracts is highly desirable, as is previous experience within an in-house role. You will have excellent communication and organisation skills, along with a flexible approach and a ‘can do’ attitude. You’ll be keen to monitor developments in legislation and industry practice which may affect our business.
