Housing Lawyer

Our client based in North London requires a Housing lawyer for an immediate start.

This Local Authority is seeking a qualified lawyer to conduct and manage a wide range of legal case work and advice in respect of commercial leases and property matters.

The role will include:

*The grant, renewal, assignment and variation of commercial leases, advising on the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954
*Drafting title reports
*Auction sales, Management agreements, nominations deeds
*Variations to residential leases
*Advising on property related matters including Right To Buy
*Assisting as required in relation to property matters on multi-million pound redevelopment & regeneration projects , schools converting to academies and in relation to, outsourcing Council services.

The ideal candidate would have the following qualities:
*Qualified Solicitor/Barrister
*Local Government Experience
*Significant recent experience in all aspects of housing law for a local authority
*Experience of advising Senior Officers and Members
*Experience of advising Housing Committees or Housing Cabinet Members
*Involvement in Policy work/Strategy
*Understanding of Welfare Reform Act and changes and impact this will bring to Local Authorities
