Our client is a world renowned pharmaceutical producer with operations in Europe, North America and Asia. Due to continued growth they now wish to recruit a Senior Legal Counsel with a proven commercial / pharmaceutical legal background to provide the global legal team with legal support to the Research and Development and Innovation teams. This role will be based at their West London office where you will work closely with senior management in the R&D and Innovation teams.

The Role
You will report directly to the General Counsel with the responsibility for UK, Ireland and EU legal matters and work closely within all functions of R&D, spanning the innovation teams, clinical, statisticians and regulatory. Your role will focus on a large and varied workload of IT/IP commercial contracts, compliance and corporate where you will work closely as part of an international team and work closely with business partners. You will be required to offer commercial input and provide ideas to the Company's long-term business objectives in line with its strategy and values, while ensuring compliance with applicable rules, laws and codes of practice, protecting the business interests, and minimising or appropriately mitigating risks. You will be required to support business operations with compliance and regulations whilst keeping up-to-date of laws and developing external trends, with this knowledge to hand you will educate and train staff on important legal issues relative to areas of responsibility.


Candidate Requirements:
You will be UK qualified with at least 4+ years post-qualification legal experience in the medical device and/or pharmaceutical sector with legal experience gained from a commercial team of a leading law firm. Candidates must have excellent academics and UK solid commercial legal experience with strong knowledge of working knowledge of dealing with IFPMA, EFPIA, ABHI, ABPI would be advantageous. Must be pragmatic with proven commercial awareness in providing clients with prompt and strategic advice on complex legal issues. It's imperative that candidates have expertise in healthcare laws including those relating to the research, development, manufacture, approval, regulation, sale and marketing of pharmaceutical and/or medical device products
