The Role
We are now seeking a talented Immigration Lawyer to join our client’s highly regarded practice in Newcastle. Ideally LAA Level 2 accredited, the successful Lawyer will manage a diverse caseload incorporating business and personal immigration matters including asylum applications, appeals and judicial reviews. In addition, the ideal Lawyer will also participate in business development activities for the department and firm as a whole. A good working knowledge of legal aid procedures and strong communication skills are pre-requisite.
The Candidate
You must be a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or fee earning Paralegal with at least 2 years’ solid experience managing a full Immigration caseload.
You must have excellent technical skills, with expertise in public and privately-funded matters.
You will ideally be accredited to LAA / IAAS Level 2 Senior Caseworker status.
You will be a team player and able to work with minimal supervision, meeting tight deadlines.
You will have prior experience of dealing with appeals and judicial reviews.
