As part of our continued success and expansion, we are looking to appoint an accomplished Commercial Lawyer to lead our IT, data protection, Freedom of Information and related regulatory work. In this varied role you will lead a cross-departmental team to drive forward our IT expertise and as part of your role you will:

• Support clients in relation to a wide range of IT contracts matters including telecommunications, outsourcing, software development, licensing, systems integration/implementation and IT procurement.
• Advise other fee earners and clients on e-commerce, on-line business, consumer credit and Financial Services regulations.
• Deliver pragmatic solutions and develop strong client relationships to ensure we are trusted advisors.
• Support the wider firm in raising our profile within our specialist markets through effective business development.

To be successful in this role you will ideally have the following skills and personal qualities:

• A good knowledge of commercial contracts, IT contracts, IT project work and procurement.
• Proven experience advising clients in relation to data protection and Freedom of Information matters.
• A collaborative approach combined with the ability to instruct solicitors, legal assistants and trainees.
• ·A desire to learn and further develop your technical legal skills.
• The ability to build rapport and inspire a diverse client base whilst holding their confidence as a trusted advisor.
• A high level of self motivation combined with a proactive approach.
