Senior Legal Counsel

A Senior Commercial Lawyer (with at least 5 years PQE) is sought to join the legal team in the UK division of a FTSE 100 company. This is an international business which provides its services to a variety of organisations in business and industry, education, healthcare, leisure, defence and offshore oil companies. This role is extremely varied in nature. You will be a senior lawyer and form part of an established team, working closely with commercial colleagues providing excellent legal advice and contribute to the success of the business. The focus of this role is predominately on drafting and negotiating large scale contracts with for the business encompassing:

· Advising and negotiating numerous contracts for the provision of services to numerous large 'blue chip' clients of the business including worldwide group framework contracts. This includes co-ordinating legal support across various jurisdictions;
· Reviewing and preparing responses to invitations to tender;
· Advising sales teams/operation directors on the tender process for the outsourcing of services;
· Advising and negotiating large scale multisite outsourcing agreements;
· Advising on TUPE and pensions implications relating to out-sourcing agreements, litigation and tax issues with the support of external counsel if necessary; and
· Negotiating and finalised numerous contracts with suppliers of the business.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to manage and develop the role of more junior members of the Legal Function and will also be tasked with managing the cost effective use of external professional advisers in support of business legal objectives.

This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with at least 5 years' PQE experience gained in a leading private practice firm or in-house to move into a more senior role where they can develop. Alternatively, we are keen to hear from individuals who are currently operating as a senior commercial lawyer and are looking to make a lateral move.
