Head of Legal

Our West London based client is looking to recruit a qualified, experienced and practicing Lawyer to head their legal team.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working effectively with senior management and demonstrate the ability to deliver a high standard of legal advice and services against a full range of legal, policy and regulatory obligations.  

As head of the legal team, you will be responsible for the provision of robust and pragmatic legal advice on a broad range of complex legal issues affecting the organisation.

• Ability to advise on and manage contracts
• Provide particular expertise in employment law and advise on HR related matters such as grievances and the management of employment tribunal claims
• Manage the compliance team dealing with Data Protection and FOI
• Manage the relationship with external legal advisors to minimise costs
• Advising on the best course of action, making practical recommendations to ensure the effective management of legal issues and risk
• Advise on contracts or partnership agreements with external parties
• Provide legal advice and support in the resolution of contract disputes

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced in-house solicitor to take responsibility for a small legal team and provide expert strategic and legal advice to the organisation.

Previous experience in the education sector is highly desirable.
