Planning Lawyer

Our client is a personable Council based in Suffolk. We are helping them secure an experienced and enthusiastic Planning Locum to cover a long term vacancy that has arisen.

Attractively, this contract is predicted to last for a minimum of 6 – 9 months, with the successful candidate able to work condensed hours to shorten the working week. You will work 30 hours a week with the possibility of taking on more hours (up to 37) dependant upon caseload.

The ideal candidate will be a Solicitor, Barrister or qualified Legal Executive although non qualified candidates with strong experience in planning matters are also welcome to apply.

Duties will include:

• Assisting the council on various contentious and non contentious planning applications
• Advising at Planning Committee
• Occasionally dealing with Judicial Review matters
• Advising on Planning Appeal Inquiries
• Negotiate and draft various section 106 Agreements
• Dealing with certificate of lawfulness of existing or proposed use or development

An hourly rate of £30 - £37 per hour is offered dependant upon experience. To apply for this role, please can candidates send their CV
