A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Legal Counsel looking for an exciting new challenge. My client, a FTSE 100 company is the European arm of a very successful Global Retail company, is looking for a commercially aware solicitor to join their well established legal department.
The legal department is very well regarded within the group, supporting the American and European areas of the business by providing them with critical commercial support. You will be required to manage relationships with external counsel within foreign jurisdictions. This is an incredibly strong legal department with ambitious expansion plans over the next couple of years.
Being based in North London the ideal Senior Legal Counsel will join a successful, innovative, forward thinking Legal team which has grown organically over the years supporting all areas of the business. You will have strong connections within Europe supporting the business with all technology /commercial matters.
You will handle a wide caseload of commercial /technology matters (mainly business to business) and be involved in decisions which will hugely impact the business as a whole.
You will be required to draft/ negotiate commercial contracts, advise on technology matters. Contracts range from merchandise, privacy / data protection/ employment/ E-commerce/ Litigation.
Experience of marketing / competition law would be advantageous.
The role would suit a high calibre Solicitor with at least 6-8 years PQE Level, with training gained from a leading City or heavyweight regional firm. Candidates from both In-house departments and Private Practice will be considered.
Key to this role is proven exposure to handling a broad range of commercial contracts including technology matters. You will have previous experience working with international arms of the business.
