HEALTHCARE ADVISORY – THE TEAM
The healthcare advisory team advise a range of clients and public bodies on various matters relating to mental health law including the Mental Health Act as well as issues surrounding the restraint and detention of patients as well as false imprisonment.
This is a highly technical, yet also delicate area of the law requiring a range of skills. It also demands a knowledge of the key mechanisms in this field, such as the Mental Health Review Tribunal, Judicial Review and the Court of Protection.
The team is highly regarded with many noted and ranked in the press such as Chambers & Partners and the Legal 500.

PREFERRED SKILLS
Healthcare solicitors must possess a very keen technical appreciation of the law, from the ability to interpret key statute, such as the Mental Health Act to an understanding of core legal principles of judicial review. In many ways, therefore, this is a part of legal practice that draws very much on black letter law. In particular, as well as exposure to healthcare law, our client is looking for:
- Strong academic background;
- Keen attention to detail; and
- The ability to interpret complex legal principles.
