THE FIRM

One of the largest law firms in the world, serving clients in every major financial centre.

The European financial services regulatory team forms part of the Investment Management Group and M&A Practice Area.

The team is primarily non-contentious in focus but does assist on contentious regulatory issues and is broad in focus advising on a wide variety of UK domestic and cross-border regulatory issues.

The team works closely with a number of practice areas: Investment Management, M&A, Capital Markets, Litigation, Banking and Restructuring reflecting the firm's transactional focus.

The new mid level hire will join the financial services regulatory team to undertake a broad range of non-contentious regulatory work.

They will have regular exposure to clients and will be encouraged to engage in business development activities.

The role will require flexibility in approach and an ability to satisfy the demands of both transaction support and advisory requests.

ABOUT YOU

The firm is looking for a junior to mid-level regulatory associate although those with less or more relevant experience will be considered on their merits.

You will require experience of working in a financial services regulatory team in either a well-regarded City practice or US firm with a primary focus on non-contentious regulatory matters covering MiFID, AIFMD, EMIR, M&A related issues, market abuse, capital markets and regulatory capital.

The successful candidate will have strong academics and will need to have completed a training contract at a well-regarded London law firm or have equivalent experience from a common law jurisdiction.

The candidate will also be expected to play an integral part in growing and developing the regulatory team and an ability and a willingness to look at cross-border issues is essential.

A generous remuneration package is on offer as well as a comprehensive training programme which has evolved over the years as the firm has grown and assists its lawyers in their development by providing them with the necessary skills to take on as much responsibility as they are ready for.

Lipson Lloyd Jones Ltd is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy. Please note our advertisements use PQE levels purely as a guide to the minimum level of experience required. However we are happy to consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfill this kind of work.
