Legal Counsel

Douglas Scott have recently partnered with a FinTech business, based in Central London, on the appointment of a Legal Counsel to join their small In-house Legal team. The position would suit a Solicitor of around 4-6 years PQE with substantial experience in a range of commercial and corporate matters, and ideally some experience working in financial services regulation or another finance/fintech business. Salary is flexible and dependent on individual experience.

This well-known business makes a significant contribution to the Financial Services industry in the UK, with its systems responsible for over 90% of payment transactions. The successful In-house Solicitor will work closely with the organisations General Counsel, and also work with a team of external Solicitors who assist with matters such as ring-fencing and more complex financial issues.

The position will involve advising the business and key clients on a wide range of commercial and corporate matters and managing the legal aspects of on-boarding new clients on to the organisations service. The successful In-house Solicitor will also negotiate and draft a variety of commercial contracts, advise on data protection and any regulatory changes in the industry, and assist in managing compliance.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced and commercially savvy Solicitor to work closely alongside an experienced General Counsel in providing sound corporate and commercial legal advice to this reputable FinTech business.
