Our client is a large, corporate organisation based in Birmingham.
There is now a rare opportunity for a Pensions Solicitor to join their established in-house legal team initially on a part - time 6 month contract (20 hours a week).
The role will be responsible for providing commercially sensitive pragmatic legal advice with a key focus on Admission Agreements. You will be involved in the end to end process including drafting agreements, negotiation of agreements and will act as a key contact throughout the processs for Local Authority legal teams.
Proven experience in the following areas, although candidates who possess some of the experiences listed while demonstrating a clear ability to work towards others will also be considered. We are open minded on PQE and will also consider qualified Legal Executives with relevant experience:
Experience of drafting and negotiating Admission Agreements with regards to the Local Government Pensions Scheme (LGPS) and associated Pensions Guarantee Bonds and/or Parent Company Guarantees
Experience of liaising with colleagues and with LGPS Funds Officers and/or Local Authority Legal staff in support of the processing and completion of the Admissions and related internal set up
Experience of drafting and/or negotiating of Admission Agreements with regards to the Civil Service Pension Scheme and Directions / Determination Body Status with regards to the NHS Pension Scheme will also be valuable
Experience providing legal support to internal Clients and due diligence on the Pensions implications (primarily Public Sector but also other pension requirements such as auto-enrolment), obligations, risks and indemnities in relation to a variety of medium to large corporate transactions and bids.
Able to provide commercially sensitive pragmatic legal advice orally and in writing, including researching, analysing and determining the impact of new laws, rules and regulations on pension matters
