Senior Paralegal/ Solicitor (Medical Negligence)

My client based in Merseyside is looking to recruit for a Senior Paralegal/ Solicitor (1 year PQE) to join their Medical Negligence Team.

The successful candidate will be expected to handle cases being transferred from Junior Paralegals, up to the point of issuing court proceedings, under the supervision of the senior solicitor and team supervisor.

To be considered for this role candidates must have a Law or Undergraduate Degree, experience of working with Clinical Negligence matters, excellent IT, organisational and drafting skills, previous fee earning experience within the legal sector and within a clinical negligence department, excellent client care skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing cases transferred from Junior Paralegals, dealing with client queries, reviewing and collating expert evidence on file in accordance with case plan, drafting letters of claim, drafting witness statements and schedule of losses, advising clients in relation to evidence and issues surrounding the case, ensuring cases are kept on track and are settled or ready to issue within 8 months of receiving the case , instructing Counsel once authorised by Head of Department and arranging case conferences. Candidates must follow the code of best practice adopted by the team as well as ensuring that time is recorded in accordance with the team’s KPI’s and adhering to any workflow and KPI requirements.
