Our client a well recognised company is looking to recruit several junior / mid level Commercial solicitors to be based in house in Sheffield. You would be working as part of a large legal team. Our client is opening a legal department in Sheffield.

Description
As a key member of the Commercial Affairs Team in Group Legal and Compliance (GLC) this role will partner closely with a wide range of relevant stakeholders to provide commercial law transaction support, advice, guidance and solutions in a commercially focused and understandable way, and to ensure that all strategic, legal, operational and transactional goals are met in accordance with the needs of the business and objectives of GLC.
- To ensure the provision of robust, clear and commercially focused legal transaction support and advice specifically in the specialist area of commercial law ensuring alignment with business needs and GLC objectives and effectively identifying, assessing and managing risk.
- To ensure that the process of concluding commercial transactions is conducted in an efficient and timely manner to an agreed risk profile, playing an appropriate part in project management.
- To support other more senior members of the Commercial Affairs Legal Team on complex matters and to work independently on less complex matters.
- To liaise with other GLC teams to provide specialist advice as necessary.
- To develop, maintain and ensure effective relationships with relevant stakeholders across the business.
- Proactively identifying, developing and leading on the delivery of training programmes and guidance documents to upskill stakeholders on a range of commercial law issues utilising both internal and external resources.
- To support and assist in advising relevant stakeholders, steering committees and business management teams on commercial law risks.
- Ensuring appropriate and focussed legal input to project teams, through presence at project meetings/steering groups and by procuring and delivering commercial law advice in the most appropriate format.
- Supporting the Legal Director, Commercial Affairs and Senior Legal Advisors in all reporting and MI requirements to key stakeholders, General Counsel and as required. Taking a proactive role in identifying valuable ways to utilise MI to drive business change and reduce risk.
- To outsource legal work as appropriate, robustly managing quality and cost.
To proactively focus on enabling relevant stakeholders to produce and agree appropriate contracts without legal support to a pre-agreed risk profile; establishing structured and timetabled reviews of precedents; and assisting with development of internal know-how through appropriate resources.
Profile
You will have more than 2 years post qualification experience in commercial transactions and commercial legal advice. Any candidates who have less than 2 years post qualification may also be considered if they have the right skill set and experience to meet the job criteria.

Salary will be within market rate and dependant upon the candiadtes level of experience
