Contracts and Procurement Lawyer - NON DBS

Our client based in South London is looking to recruit a new Contracts and Procurement Lawyer for a 3 month initial contract

Your duties will include:

*Advising and drafting contract documentation across a range of council services
*Procurement expertise and knowledge with a view to advising and if necessary
*Drafting procurement documentation, compliance with procurement regulations and governance in relation to procurement.
*Advising Committees of the Council, Lead Members, members and Chief Officers in respect of legal matters relating to contracts.
*Advising all departments of the County Council and public authority clients
*Providing advice to the Council in relation to the
area of contracts.
*Carrying out such other duties as deemed appropriate by the Legal Services Manager.
*Participating in the development of quality systems for Legal Services and in particular the retention of accreditation under Investors in People and the Law Society's Practice Management Standards (Lexcel)

The following skills are required:

*Practising Solicitor or Barrister
*Experience in local government law, procurement and contracts and company commercial matters
*The ability to analyse factual situations, research the relevant law and apply it.
*Relevant experience of providing advice and guidance to elected Members/or senior managers
