TRAINEE CLAIMS HANDLER 30-31k

Working for a leading institution in Canary Wharf, a full time permanent position has arisen for a Trainee Claims Handler within clinical negligence.
The role will provide a claims handling service to Clients within a clinical negligence department. The ideal candidate will be: 

1.         Responsible (under supervision and with training) for handling own caseload within defined limits of authority & strictly in accordance with Claims Handling Protocol.
2.         Provide support for other members of the claims handling team & contribute to a positive team culture.
3.         Work at all times with full knowledge of, & in accordance with, the CHU Protocol and the regulatory framework e.g. the Financial Services Act & the Data Protection Act.
4.         Provide assistance & guidance to members during the claims handling process.
5.         Develop & maintain a good working knowledge of current technical & legal developments relevant to the work of the Claims Handling department.       
6.         Participate in educational activities & keep a record of training/educational activities.
 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
 
Basic knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules
A law graduate ideally having completed the LPC
Ability to absorb and understand clinical terminology to a level that can be applied to claims handling
Experience in the use of Microsoft Office
Good oral & written communication
Able to adapt & work under pressure, prioritising as necessary
Supportive of other team members
Able to absorb and retain a variety of information with the aim of increasing knowledge & developing self in claims handling role
Demonstrates high standards of customer service
Basic understanding of Civil Procedure Rules
Knowledge of/interest in clinical negligence
