Our client is a highly successful UK private equity business with an impressive growth trajectory. Typically investing in SMEs across a range of industry sectors, this is a business which invariably seeks to establish a long term and collaborative relationship with its investment companies.

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a talented, experienced corporate / private equity lawyer to join our client's in-house legal function. A very important hire for the business, you will join a seasoned and highly capable in-house team, in a position that combines advising on our client's investment activities (and throughout the life cycle of investments through to exit), as well as a varied diet of more general corporate advisory work.

Likely to have trained and practised with one of the recognised law firms for private equity work, the successful candidate will have circa 8-10+ years' PQE of corporate transactional experience, which will include significant exposure to advising sponsors on private equity investments, and consequently an understanding of the nuances and market practice in that sector. Experience of having acted on venture capital transactions would also be advantageous. In person, you will be a confident, articulate and commercially pragmatic operator, a genuine team player who is quick to establish trust and credibility with senior stakeholders. You will be adept at operating in a fast-moving and deal-driven environment, yet still able to take a considered and balanced approach to providing sound, risk-based legal advice.

To discuss this opportunity in more detail, please contact Nikki Newton. Taylor Root are exclusively retained on this assignment.

Please note our advertisements use PQE/salary levels purely as a guide. However we are happy to consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfil the role.
