Paralegal - The Wellcome Trust

The mission of Wellcome's Legal team is to use their legal expertise and work in active partnership with the organisation to safeguard Wellcome's interests and think beyond the legal detail.

The Paralegal will handle a wide range of tasks including:

• Drafting and reviewing legal documents and templates, and working with Legal team members to provide advice to colleagues.
• Undertaking legal research and presenting legal topics to lawyers and other colleagues.
• Managing the team's systems and processes (e.g. knowledge-sharing platform, contracts database and intranet pages).

You will hold either a professional paralegal qualification (i.e. CILEx) or a good degree in English law or GDL (or equivalent).

You must have:

• Excellent research, analysis, drafting, administrative and organisational skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• The ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines
• Familiarity with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

You will be positive and proactive and comfortable with actively participating in Legal team meetings and projects, sharing knowledge and resources across the team and with the wider organisation.

Ideally, you will also have experience of:

• Working in a commercial legal and/or a professional support environment
• Managing systems such as a knowledge-sharing platform, contracts database or similar
• Using SharePoint or similar database software.
