Solicitor with specialist Child Care expertise sought for a Lexcel-accredited firm in Coventry.

The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic Solicitor to join our clients’ flourishing practice in Coventry. Working closely with the head of the Child Care department, the successful Solicitor will manage a demanding caseload consisting primarily of public law children matters to include care proceedings, adoption and abduction utilising advocacy skills up to and including trials. In addition, the ideal Solicitor will assist with matrimonial matters as necessary. Other duties will include assisting with the day to day management of the department, building strong working relationships with local authorities and external professionals and participating in business development activities.

The Candidate
You must be a qualified Solicitor with a minimum of three years’ PQE, with a solid background in Children and Family law with a focus on public law work.
You will have excellent technical skills with a broad range of expertise.
You will be a confident advocate with the ability to handle contested hearings and trials.
Prior supervisory experience is desirable.
Membership of the Law Society Children Panel or eligibility to apply for accreditation would be highly advantageous.
You will be personable, driven and able to assist with business development activities.
