Education Lawyer

Education Lawyer required for a local authority based in the Northern Home Counties for an initial 3 month period.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Education Lawyer to undertake a busy workload within a fast-paced environment, which would enable you to enhance your education skills quickly.

The successful candidate will have experience of handling a range of education matters, with a specific focus on SEN matters. Candidates must be able to undertake advocacy at tribunals for this positions, as well as being able to demonstrate working knowledge of the Care Act 2014. Other areas of work handled will include disability discrimination, school exclusions and admission appeals.

The ideal education lawyer will have experience of working for a local authority, however we want to stress that whilst this would be advantageous, it is not essential for this post and we welcome candidates from other public sector backgrounds, private practice and chambers.

The council is easily accessible from London and the surrounds and is commutable by car and train.
