Responsibilities 

If you are a positive, forward thinking, practical litigation lawyer, we have a rewarding role for you at Anglian Water. 

As a qualified solicitor at our new modern head office, you will be providing business focused, pragmatic commercial litigation advice and assistance. You will manage your own caseload of litigation work on a wide variety of matters including general commercial debt recovery, construction and IT disputes, claims relating to damage to assets and property disputes, together with the opportunity to defend and prosecute regulatory criminal matters. You will be part of a team of 4 experienced litigators who will support you with your work and from whom you will have the opportunity to learn and share knowledge and experience.

This opportunity is being offered as a Fixed Term 12 month Contract, full time or part time (minimum of 3 days per week).

Requirements 

A qualified solicitor, you will ideally have at least 3 years PQE, although all candidates who can demonstrate relevant litigation experience are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be an experienced and competent advocate prepared to undertake court work across the Anglian Water region.  

You must have strong analytical thinking and be skilled in providing well thought-out, practical advice.  You should have sound knowledge of litigation practice and procedure, as well as strong drafting and IT skills. Previous experience of working in house, as well as having some commercial / contract law experience is desirable although not essential.

Your relationship with internal clients and the legal team as a whole is key to being successful in this role, so excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. You must also be prepared to embrace a wide variety of work and learn about the water industry.
