Position Title: Senior Editor (immigration), Practical Law

Position Type: Permanent

Role Purpose/ Summary:

Working as part of a dedicated project team on the creation of new content for online publication and use in the development of new legal know-how products, reviewing and assisting in the maintenance of existing content, ensuring content created and maintained is of the quality and scope that meets business objectives and the evolving needs of customers.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities: 

  • Researching, writing and delivering well-written, up-to-date content for online publication that reflects current market legal practice and is of the quality and scope that meets the business objectives and needs of customers.
  • Working with existing editorial teams to develop and refine content to support new legal know-how products.
  • Supporting technology and product teams in developing and refining know-how products.
  • Working with customers to keep up to date and accurately capture legal market developments, to maintain the quality and scope of the content created.

Mandatory Skills and Experience:

  • Significant and substantial post qualification experience in immigration law, including business immigration.
  • A high level of technical legal skills, with a broad knowledge of immigration law and practice.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in producing well-written practical legal content efficiently of a nature that will be relevant for publication and/or teaching.
  • Experience in capturing legal process and market practice
  • Experience in using technology to create and disseminate online content.
  • Experience in assimilating and applying new complex information.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Education/ Certifications Required:

  • UK qualified solicitor, barrister or legal executive.
