Our long-standing client is a Dubai based investment company whose portfolio covers a wide range of sectors including leisure, retail and development. A need has now arisen in this legal team for a junior front and back end construction lawyer to work closely with the current legal team.
The role will involve the various matters:
- To advise the Projects team on construction contract administration matters including issuance of notices under relevant construction or consultancy contracts
- Drafting and/or reviewing construction and other procurement contracts, notices or statements.
- Advising regarding contractor claims: claims for variations, extension of time, application of delay damages.
- Advising regarding insurance issues and claims against policies.
- Leading and assisting in arbitration matters
- Negotiation of contractual exit strategies, mitigation of damages, defending claims and devising action plans to implement settlements
To be considered for this role, the individual must have 2 - 5 years’ PQE (UK equivalent) of relevant construction experience focusing on contentious and non-contentious matters either within a leading law firm or a corporate. Previous regional experience is required for this position. Arabic language skills are not necessary. A good team player is required with a strong work ethic and commitment to the workplace.
