Legal Counsel - Maternity Cover

I am currently recruiting for a global mining organisation who are seeking a legal counsel to join their team in Central London.

The candidate will work with the senior management and be expected to offer sound commercial advice on various legal matters as well as assisting on compliance matters.

The role will also be responsible for;

• Deploying and assisting with the Compliance Program
• Following-up on implementation progress regarding internal assurance recommendations
• Maintaining corporate records/information
• Assisting with the planning and improvement of legal services
• Coordinating legal internal reporting for Mining.
• Reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts/settlement agreements.
• Negotiating iron ore & coal sales contracts (FOB/CFR/FCA/DAP).
• Supporting Business Units in relation to corporate transactions (M&A, JV agreements, restructurings, financing operations/working capital arrangements)

This is an outstanding opportunity for a qualified lawyer with at least 3 years' PQE. You will have worked for an international law firm and have had prior in-house experience. Experience in the global mining sector would be advantageous as well as experience within a commercial team.
