A leading London law firm is looking for a Business Development Assistant based in Cardiff

JOB PURPOSE

Support a Senior Business Development Executive with specific regional and divisional focus.

Work closely and effectively with colleagues in marketing and wider team.

Build a good understanding of the work and marketplaces of your assigned division, sectors and region.

Work alongside other team members to ensure that best practice is followed across the business and that a consistent quality and brand is applied.

KEY DUTIES

  1. Project/campaign management – assist in planning and executing small campaigns e.g. gathering data, updating the CRM, client and target research, co-ordinating the production and mailing of marketing materials and the necessary follow-up, including telephone calls and/or delivery of an event
  1. Bids and BD support – undertaking research and providing company and industry/sector information in support of tenders, supporting the collation and production of high quality materials including credentials documents, proposal documents, sector brochures
  1. Events project management - working with the marketing team to ensure the smooth delivery of business and hospitality events including the co-ordination of the events process, supporting content and delivery of invitation mailings, responding to enquiries, preparing delegate materials and online surveys, and handling post-event follow up and administration
  1. Marketing administration - undertaking related administrative tasks including the co-ordination of meetings, dealing with invoices, monitoring budgets, preparing and distributing progress and executive reports, minutes from meetings and monitoring/chasing lawyers in relation to action points.

KEY MEASURES

  • Successfully managing ongoing, day-to-day tasks whilst taking responsibility for the progression of initiatives that spread over many weeks.
  • Contributing towards successful delivery of initiatives on time, to budget and to a high standard.
  • Production of high-quality, accurate data and marketing materials and supporting documentation.
  • Positive feedback from management and peers.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 1 year + experience of working in a marketing department - professional services experience is preferred
  • Some events and project management skills
  • Experience of developing and maintaining client facing marketing materials
  • Excellent IT skills, especially within Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media
  • Knowledge/experience of working with CRM systems will be a distinct advantage
  • A consistently professional and confident manner
  • Strong attention to detail and deadlines
  • Ability to build strong, valued relationships with people inside and outside the team and at all levels
  • A self-starter with an ability to work independently
  • Graduate or equivalent level qualifications preferable, may be studying for CIM qualification
