Personal Injury Paralegal - Social Care / Abuse
SOCIAL CARE / ABUSE - LIVERPOOL
The abuse and social care team of this leading national firm is currently looking to hire a paralegal to join the expanding practice group. Ideally, candidates will demonstrate previous experience of social care and abuse work, but those with strong general EL/PL experience will also be considered.

- Previous experience: Legal Executive or paralegal with a background in social care and abuse work, though those with solid EL/PL experience should also consider applying.
WORK DONE BY THE TEAM
The social care and abuse team handles a vast array of matters. This area of work can draw on a broad spectrum of legal disciplines such as personal injury, healthcare, even human rights. Generally, the work involved is high value and by its very nature, quite sensitive.
The team defends a large number of public institutions as well as private and publically owned companies involved in the healthcare and wellbeing sector. No two cases are ever the same and the department certainly offers an interesting and challenging spread of work.
THE SKILLSET
As mentioned above, this kind of role draws on a vast array of skills. A typical day involve:
- Assisting partners or senior lawyers on the defense of high value confidential claims;
- Analysing medical records and notes;
- Drafting instructions to council; or
- Attending and assisting more senior fee earners in court where necessary.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
This is a role which involves a very high level of technical ability and strong attention-to-detail. Previous experience gained in social care and abuse would be ideal, however candidates with proven EL/PL or general civil litigation experience are also encouraged to apply.
