THE COMPANY


A major company with a well-established legal team seeks to appoint a solicitor c 3 PQE with a construction/commercial litigation background. This is to work part time 3 days per week equivalent

THE ROLE

The role will involve assisting the Litigation Solicitors in dealing with all contentious matters as well as drafting, negotiating and advising on a variety of commercial matters.

On the dispute resolution side you will provide legal advice to stakeholders as well as initiate and defend civil claims brought by and against the company either in the civil courts and tribunals, arbitration or through alternative dispute resolution methods. You will additionally manage and resolve debt claims.

Additionally you will be involved in representing the company in respect of prosecutions brought by the Environment Agency and other regulators.

You will also advise and assist in developing regulatory compliance strategies and where necessary act as prosecutor for the regulatory function.

You will also represent the company in other matters including judicial review, public enquiries and deputise for the Litigation Solicitor when required.

On the commercial side you will be involved in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements including:

Purchasing agreements;

IT software licences, support and maintenance agreements; outsourcing agreements;

Intellectual property licence agreements;

Non disclosure agreements;

Financial bonds and guarantees;

Research and development agreements

Engineering / construction contracts and associated collateral warranties, sub contracts and bonds;

Electricity and renewal power contracts;

ABOUT YOU

A Solicitor with at least 3PQE in the relevant areas of litigation and commercial work.

Experience in advocacy as well as drafting pleadings and negotiating settlements

Experience of drafting commercial contracts desirable

Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.

In house experience desirable

Strong commercial acumen and focus on providing positive / innovative solutions for the business

Full clean driving licence and access to vehicle

Available to start work for a 12 month contract
