Paralegal - Banking (3 month FTC)

Title: Paralegal

Location: Based in Ashurst’s London offices

Hours:Monday to Friday, 09:30 - 17:30

Overview: To provide transactional support to the Banking groups (Leveraged Finance and Real Estate Finance)

Main responsibilities:

• Transactional support as required e.g. assisting fee earners and trainees handling large volumes of documents in the run up to signing/ completion;
• Project Management Team support – assisting the Project Management team on large scale transactions (including planning, tracking, monitoring, reporting);
• Discrete research tasks;
• Proofreading;
• Document review;
• Data room management;
• Searches;
• Bibling assistance

 Essential skills and experience:

• Familiar with loan documentation;
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written;
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and common sense;
• Ability to acquire new technical skills and work with new technologies;
• Accuracy;
• Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision, if required;
• Flexibility and adaptability;
• Problem solving;
• Conflict management;
• Excellent attention to detail;
• Excellent organisational skills, the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines;
• Ability to work well under pressure;

• Good working knowledge of MS Excel;

Desirable skills and experience

• Familiar with ISDA documentation
• Law degree/LPC;
• Good working knowledge of Office XP
