A rare opportunity is being offered by a leading global sports rights distribution and Production Company for an ambitious sports and media lawyer with expertise in negotiating media/broadcast rights and digital/technology agreements. Our client represents and manages the rights to broadcast sports in EMEA and ASIA PAC.
The Role
You will report to the Head of Legal and manage the company's regulatory obligations media and commercial regulatory changes. You will be required to advise on and complete broadcast and other media content contracts and complete technical, facilities and service contracts relating to the provision of sports TV and digital production. You will advise the commercial team on sports rights matters and on internal/company legal matters including management of the commercial tender processes. Maintain external law firm relationships that cover employment, corporate taxation, litigation, property, IP and media regulatory affairs.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be an ambitious commercial lawyer ideally having gained exposure to sports and media law with 4-6 yrs PQE (not looking for candidates outside these parameters) having trained with an international law firm. It's essential that candidates have expertise in negotiating media/broadcast rights and digital/technology agreements. You will have thorough expertise in advising matters surrounding the exploitation of broadcast and digital sports media rights and content across all platforms. For this role you will work in conjunction with international sports celebrities, so you must be confident and articulate with good team work skills having the ability to develop strong working relationships with the Company's suppliers and broadcast partners. This role offers autonomy where you must be comfortable to lead in commercial negotiations, manage the company's extensive external law firm relationships, and see contract negotiations through to completion.
Ideal candidates will have previous in-house experience or alternatively relevant private practice experience having gained a secondment in-house. This position offers very a good numeration package and growth prospects for the right candidate.
