Sole Legal Counsel - Commercial - 2+ PQE

A Sole Legal Counsel position has arisen at a growing financial institution based in central London.

The new hire will sit alongside the senior executives within the company in a collegiate and friendly environment. This opportunity will be attractive to those seeking to take on responsibility and autonomy within a business orientated environment.

The successful candidate will have two years or more post qualification experience, and will have ideally gained some experience in an in-house environment.* Knowledge of a broad range of commercial matters is essential. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to draft, review, negotiate and conclude contracts. The role will be a broad one (as sole legal counsel) and therefore, a willingness to “up-skill” and diversify will be required.  Whilst not a pre-requisite, exposure to a financial services client base/institution and a desire to work in a financial institution is beneficial. 

Responsibilities will include:

• Drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts;
• Advising the business on matters related to commercial law;
• Assisting with the development of relevant products;
• Drafting applicable policies;
• Assisting the Compliance Officer and providing general legal support across all areas of the business when necessary.
