Legal Counsel

Our client, a FTSE 250 listed global company specialising in the retail, requires a commercial lawyer to join its small and dynamic legal team. The legal team places a focus on supporting the company in its exciting growth plan.

The role will be based in their London office and will present an exciting opportunity for progression, working closely alongside the General Counsel. This position is highly interactive, presenting an opportunity to work alongside key stakeholders throughout the business. The company has a flat structure, and places a strong emphasis on the personal development of its employees as well as its own growth and innovation.

The role is broad in scope and will involve:

• Drafting and negotiating a range of commercial agreements of a cross-border nature such as Customer, Supplier and Distribution network contracts
• Transactional M&A to assist in the company’s acquisition plans
• Working closely with stakeholders across the business to support the delivery of the Group’s innovation agenda
• Data protection and Competition law and their application in relation to a business with an increasing digital presence
• Communicating in an effective manner with all stakeholders within the business, presenting legal concepts and solutions in an effective and understandable way.

The ideal candidate will have upwards of 3 years post qualification experience and may already be in-house or with a law firm. Applicants must have had a first class training and a career to date within either a leading firm and/or a well-known brand with international presence. The chief component of technical expertise will be within commercial contracts and preferably e-commerce but some exposure to corporate transactions is preferable.
