Our client comprises a portfolio of the UK's leading pawnbrokers, financial services and jewellery brands. With over 100 stores in the UK, they trade in high end goods, including luxury handbags and jewellery and gold.
As their first in house counsel for the company you will set up the legal function, with responsibilities to include:
- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and concluding a broad range of commercial contracts
- Drafting relevant policies
- Assisting with development of relevant products
- Advising on FCA Rules and Regulations
- Provide support to the Compliance Officer and providing general legal support across all areas of the business as required
Requirements
- UK qualified lawyer either in private practice or in house
- Commercial contracts experience is essential
- Exposure to the retail industry is desirable
- Experience of FCA regulation or consumer credit is desirable
- Some in-house experience is essential
- Experience in consumer lending is desirable
