Education Tribunal Officer
Education Tribunal Officer required to join a local authority based in London for an initial 3 month period.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a popular local authority, and would be well suited to an established Education lawyer/paralegal, or alternatively somebody with specialist education tribunal experience.
The successful Education Tribunal Officer will primarily be preparing, leading and attending tribunal hearing on behalf of the council. Alongside this, the role will also involve;
- Leading on mediation and resolution of all issues relating to the SEND tribunal process
- Working closely with legal services (both internal and external) on individual casework
- Ensuring that appropriate decisions are made relating to potential or actual appeals, in order to reduce the level of escalation of casework
The successful Education Tribunal Officer must have SENDIST experience, as this will be an important part of the role. The ideal candidate will have this from a legal background, although this is not essential.
The office is well serviced by public transport and is within walking distance of shops and restaurants.
We encourage interested applicants to apply immediately to be considered for short listing. Alternatively should you require further information or wish to discuss your suitability before applying please contact Rayhaneh Tehrani in our Manchester office for a confidential discussion.
